The Holidays & December Currently

Thanksgiving was awesome this year, as well as tiring. My mom, sister, brother-in-law and their 2 dogs came in & stayed with me. While I worked my sister cleaned my bathroom, kitchen & did a heckuva lot of laundry, while my mom folded the laundry :-/

Now all that cleaning & laundry didn't come without it's strings. I was nagged mercilessly by my mom & sister. Now it's said one must go through the trenches to truly appreciate the light at the end of the tunnel. It was tough, because I'm a procrastinator and lazy by nature, I own and don't deny it. I now have a clean & picked up house. With the exception of a few corners and such, that is, hehe.

I also have a fridge & pantry full of food, which for a teacher isn't a bad thing ;)

Onto this month's Currently by Farly over at Oh Boy! 4th Grade.

Listening - Beautiful Creatures: I'm looking forward to reading the books this summer, since I totally don't have time to read them now, sigh...

Loving - See above.

Thinking -I got my lesson plans done and a some print outs to be put in for copies at our grade level meeting, but yeah when it came to grading papers, Teachers With A Sense of Humor over on facebook put this little meme up this evening and yeah, bout sums it all up.

Wanting - Self explanatory.

Needing - See above, lol.

Favorite Tradition - Since I've moved away and I don't do the same things I did when was younger with my parents and siblings. I spend the holidays in a different place each year, so I don't have any holiday traditions anymore :(

When I was little though I loved going over to my parents' friend's house Mrs. Lucille & Mr. Jimmy, every Christmas Eve. Everyone would come by throughout the night. At midnight we would open our gifts and then head home around 2-ish in the morning. That tradition won't happen again as everyone is getting older and can't do the things they used to. I miss having family traditions, that structure definitely lends to one's peace of mind. Without it, we can miss so much. Hopefully soon, I'll be able to have some traditions to list again.
